Israeli Forces Arrest Six Olive Pickers in Husan Amid Tensions

Bethlehem: Israeli occupation forces reportedly attacked olive pickers and arrested six individuals in the village of Husan, near Bethlehem, on Saturday. The incident adds to the ongoing tensions in the region, particularly concerning agricultural lands close to the "Beitar Illit" settlement. According to Maan News Agency, Rami Hamamra, the director of the Husan village council, stated that the occupation forces targeted olive pickers in the "Al-Waziri" lands, situated south of Husan. The forces allegedly used tear gas and sound bombs during the confrontation before arresting Ahmed Khalil Za'oul along with his two sons, Muhammad and Ammar, as well as his brother, Muhammad Khalil Za'oul, and his two sons, Marwan and Mustafa. The incident comes a week after settlers reportedly cut down 100 olive trees in the same "Al-Waziri" lands, which are owned by Ahmed and Mohammed Zaoul. Such actions have escalated tensions between the local Palestinian population and settlers, with olive harvesting being a significant e conomic activity for the residents of Husan.
