Tokyo: Japan's Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya reaffirmed his nation's commitment to a two-state solution in the Middle East during a 15-minute phone call with Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Mustafa. The conversation, which took place on Thursday, underscored Japan's ongoing efforts to contribute to peace and stability in the region. According to Kuwait News Agency, Iwaya expressed serious concerns about the situation in the West Bank, elaborating on Japan's position and commitment to advancing the Middle East peace process. He detailed Japan's diplomatic efforts and contributions to humanitarian assistance, emphasizing the country's readiness to support early recovery and reconstruction phases. During the discussion, Iwaya highlighted the importance of establishing a ceasefire in Gaza in light of the current tensions.
