Jashi Asserts Resistance Will Retain Arms Until Lebanon Strengthens

Beirut: Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Hussein Jashi declared that the resistance will only relinquish its weapons when a strong and capable state exists, one that can truly defend Lebanon and its people.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Jashi criticized U.S. efforts to pressure Lebanon into disarming the resistance, accusing Washington of seeking to leave the country exposed to Israeli aggression. He stated that after Israel’s military attempts to defeat the resistance failed, the U.S. shifted to diplomatic pressures aimed at disarming Lebanon to address Israeli security concerns.

Jashi argued that the Lebanese Army, despite its importance, lacks the capacity to repel an Israeli invasion. He emphasized that a weak state that cannot protect its citizens has no right to ask them to abandon the resistance and remain defenseless.

He highlighted Israel’s ongoing violations, questioning the state’s response to over 4,600 Israeli breaches, more than 260 martyrs, over 500 wounded, and the destruction of livelihoods.
