ISTANBUL: The Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC) actively participated in a series of significant economic events in Istanbul, including the 37th session of the board of directors and the 40th General Assembly of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD). These gatherings resulted in the establishment of new initiatives aimed at improving entrepreneurship and women's economic empowerment. According to Jordan News Agency, the meetings culminated in the approval of two new institutions affiliated with the ICCD. The first institution is dedicated to entrepreneurship, with the goal of fostering innovation and creativity among young entrepreneurs. This initiative seeks to combat unemployment and enhance the contributions of young people to economic and social development. The second institution aims to empower women economically by providing resources, training, and tools to support their active participation in the economy. This aligns with ICCD's commitment to strengthening the economic capabilities of Muslim women. In addition to these developments, the General Assembly introduced a "Business Support Platform" intended to enhance import and export activities among member states and promote trade cooperation. This platform is expected to open up opportunities for businesses and drive economic growth. The JCC also engaged in a panel discussion titled "Axes of Excellence and Sustainability in Chambers of Commerce Leadership" and participated in the 15th Turkish-Arab Economic Forum, focusing on the theme "Turkey and the Arab World: A Global Corridor for Investment, Trade and Technology." Further extending its involvement, the JCC attended the World Chambers Federation's inaugural Europe and Asia Regional Summit, which concentrated on collaborative climate action. This summit highlighted the necessity of integrating climate risks into business strategies, including corporate investment plans and social responsibility efforts. On the sidelines of these events, JCC representatives held meetings with Arab m inisters and Islamic chamber leaders to bolster bilateral relations and attract investments to Jordan.
