Jordan’s Mohammad Al-Jafari Clinches Silver at 2024 World Cadet Karate Championships in Venice


VENICE: In a significant achievement for Jordanian sports, Mohammad Al-Jafari clinched a silver medal at the 2024 World Cadet, Junior, and U21 Championships, boosting Jordan’s medal tally in this prestigious international event.

According to Jordan News Agency, Al-Jafari, representing the national karate team, competed in the under-21 category and advanced to the final round. However, he was bested by Egyptian competitor, Omar Othman, in what was a closely contested final match. This silver medal marks the second for the Jordanian team, which has shown strong performances throughout the championships, previously securing two gold and another silver medal over the past two days.

The event, held in Venice, has seen a gathering of young talents from around the globe, competing in various age groups and categories. Al-Jafari’s achievement not only adds to his personal accolades but also highlights the growing prowess of Jordanian athletes in the international karate arena.
