King Abdullah II Cautions on Potential Regional War Due to Escalation in Lebanon

AMMAN: King Abdullah II of Jordan has issued a strong warning about the potential for a regional war if the conflict between Israel and Lebanon continues to escalate. During a recent meeting with Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati at Al Husseiniya Palace, the King expressed Jordan's commitment to Lebanon's sovereignty, security, and stability. According to Emirates News Agency, His Majesty King Abdullah II emphasized Jordan's readiness to support the Lebanese people and mitigate the impact of the ongoing war on them. He revealed that Jordan is actively coordinating with Arab and key international actors to halt the Israeli military actions in Lebanon. Furthermore, King Abdullah II, in a subsequent phone call with Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof, highlighted the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza. He urged the international community to enhance their humanitarian efforts in the region and called for an immediate cessation of hostilities in both Gaza and Lebanon. The King also expressed concerns over the continued violence against Palestinians in the West Bank and violations of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. The continuation and potential expansion of the Israeli war on Lebanon could lead to dire consequences not just for the immediate nations involved but for the entire region, King Abdullah II cautioned.
