DUBAI: At the Expand North Star 2024, representatives from Korean and Indian technology startups underscored Dubai's role as a critical global hub for entrepreneurial growth and innovation. The event highlighted the city's capacity to transform innovative ideas into successful digital startups and facilitate their global expansion. According to Emirates News Agency, participants from both nations lauded Expand North Star for providing a unique platform that fosters connections with investors, clients, and potential partners, and for offering insights into the development of advanced digital technologies. The event is also recognised for helping startups evolve into billion-dollar enterprises. The Korean pavilion showcased over 100 startups specializing in areas such as artificial intelligence and deep technology, presenting solutions from AI voice cloning to digital dentistry and educational technology. Seungho Lee, Head of Marketing at Braindeck, highlighted the UAE's cultural and investment openness, whic h attracts Korean companies. Lee also mentioned the success of Korean conglomerates like Samsung and LG in Dubai as a significant draw for Korean startups. Indian tech startups also had a strong presence, introducing innovations in robotics, employee engagement platforms, training technologies, and software and IT solutions. The dynamism of the Indian startup ecosystem, known for attracting significant investments and adopting cutting-edge technologies like AI, was evident. Adviteey Mehaindroo, CEO of Zinkus, pointed out the importance of Dubai's thriving tourism sector as a catalyst for the adoption of robotics and AI technologies. Returning for the third time to Expand North Star, Mehaindroo shared how the receptive market in Dubai helped secure orders and supported business growth. Chiranjeevi Aneel Kumar Bonu, Founder and CEO of TalentSpotify, emphasized the advantages of Dubai's diverse population, ease of doing business, and innovative culture as decisive factors for launching their operations in the city.
