Kuwait City: Kuwait has reiterated its dedication to enhancing economic relationships among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, aiming for broader economic integration. The reaffirmation occurred during the sixth meeting of the Permanent Preparatory Committee for the Economic and Development Affairs Authority of the GCC, hosted today in Doha.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the Minister of Finance, Nora Al-Fassam, highlighted the importance of these meetings in fostering cooperation among Gulf countries. The Ministry of Finance statement detailed Kuwait’s active participation as part of its continued efforts towards achieving economic unity across the Gulf region.
During the discussions, delegates reviewed the agenda proposed for future cooperation and deliberated on several key issues, including follow-up reports from earlier sessions. A significant outcome of the meeting was the preliminary approval of a governance framework intended to guide joint economic and developmental endeavors among the GCC s
tates. Furthermore, there was a focus on improving the functionality and mechanisms of various committees and task forces dedicated to these goals.
Minister Al-Fassam, who also serves as the Minister of State for Economic and Investment Affairs, voiced Kuwait’s readiness to host the next year’s GCC Committee for Financial and Economic Cooperation meetings, signifying a proactive role in regional economic strategies.
