Kuwait to Implement Night Shifts for State Bodies Starting January 2025

KUWAIT CITY: Kuwaiti state bodies are set to introduce evening work hours starting January 5, 2025, as part of a new initiative aimed at enhancing public service accessibility, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) announced on Sunday. The move follows a cabinet decision designed to offer greater flexibility to both employees and the public. According to Kuwait News Agency, the CSC outlined that night shifts for employees in state bodies would be limited to four hours and 30 minutes, occurring from Sunday to Thursday. Moreover, only up to 30 percent of a state body's total workforce will be allowed to participate in these shifts. Employees will have the opportunity to select work hours that best fit their personal schedules. The CSC statement also highlighted that state bodies are permitted to implement measures they consider necessary to maintain a balance between daytime and nighttime operations. This flexibility is intended to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted workflow, allowing state bodies to continue pro viding essential services to the public without disruption.
