Kuwaiti Official Highlights the Increasing Interest in AI in Media.

Tunis: Digital media is constantly expanding within the media space, requiring immediate adaptation to advancements in technology and digital intelligence, a visiting Kuwaiti official stated recently. The official, Saad Nafel Al-Azmi, who serves as the Head of the New Media Committee at the Arab States Broadcasting Union and Assistant Undersecretary of the Kuwaiti Information Ministry for Media Services and New Media, emphasized the growing interest in using artificial intelligence within the media field, urging Arab media to align with this emerging trend. According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Azmi made these remarks during a meeting of the Permanent Committee for New Media at the Arab States Broadcasting Union's headquarters in Tunis. He highlighted the expanded scope of work for the New Media Committee, showcasing the Union's commitment to the field. This commitment was demonstrated by including a special competition for new media during the most recent Arab Radio and Television Festival. The Director Gene ral of the Union, Abdul Rahim Suleiman, also addressed the meeting, noting the increasing global interest in the relationship between artificial intelligence and media. Suleiman discussed the positive impacts of AI, including enhanced efficiency and improved audience engagement, which foster optimism among audiences. He reassured attendees of the Union's dedication to leading in technological advancements in media. Suleiman detailed the Union's proactive approach, which includes offering training courses on AI use in media production and broadcasting. He emphasized the Union's role as a leader in adopting AI technologies, citing successful applications in events such as announcing the results of the Arab Radio and Television Festival competitions. Additionally, he shared insights from the News and Program Exchange Center on mobile journalism's role in producing news reports, notably in conflict zones, and highlighted efforts to document events in the Palestinian territories. The committee members were infor med about completed training courses on digital media, social media, and AI applications in radio and television production, conducted at the Arab Training Center in Damascus and the Union Academy for Media Training.
