Labor Minister Leads Meeting on Private Sector Wage Improvements

Beirut: Labor Minister Dr. Mohammad Haidar chaired a meeting of the Index Committee at the Ministry of Labor to continue discussions on improving salaries and wages for private sector employees. The meeting, scheduled for 10:00 am, aimed to address ongoing concerns about compensation in the private sector.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, later in the day, the Finance and Budget Committee, under the leadership of MP Ibrahim Kanaan, convened a session at the Parliament office building's Public Library Hall. The committee continued its review of Draft Law No. 193, focusing on banking sector reform and reorganization. The draft law is seen as a critical step towards stabilizing and restructuring the country's financial institutions.

In the afternoon, the Administrative Board of the Association of Public Administration Employees held a press conference at the General Confederation of Lebanese Workers headquarters. The conference highlighted the demands of public sector employees for reform and justice in light of the ongoing economic and social crises. The board emphasized the need for structural changes to address the challenges faced by public administration workers.
