Lebanon Accuses Israel of Aggression, Seeks UNSC Action

BEIRUT: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants in Lebanon has lodged a new complaint with the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), urging the international body to condemn what it describes as ongoing Israeli aggression and to enforce compliance with UN Resolution 1701. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the complaint was spurred by a series of Israeli military activities targeting Lebanon from October 3 to October 14. The Lebanese government has expressed concerns over what it perceives as continuous acts of hostility by Israel towards its nation and its citizens. The complaint specifically requests the UNSC to condemn these actions and to compel Israel to halt its military operations and withdraw from Lebanese territories as mandated by Resolution 1701, which was originally intended to resolve conflicts between the two countries. The Lebanese Foreign Ministry's appeal to the UNSC underscores the urgency and severity of the situation from Lebanon's perspective, highlighting a plea for i mmediate international intervention to prevent further escalations. This move indicates Lebanon's increasing reliance on diplomatic channels to address and resolve conflicts with Israel.
