Beirut: The eighth session of the joint Lebanese-Jordanian Higher Committee commenced at 4:15 p.m. at the Grand Serail, led by the Prime Ministers of Lebanon and Jordan, Nawwaf Salam and Jafar Hassan. The session culminated in the signing of 21 agreements and memoranda of understanding, signaling a strengthened partnership between the two neighboring countries.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Jordan's Prime Minister Jafar Hassan arrived at the Grand Serail at 3:30 p.m., where he was received with an official reception by Lebanon's Prime Minister Nawaf Salam. The two leaders engaged in a bilateral meeting discussing current political developments and enhancing ties between Lebanon and Jordan.
The joint meeting involved a host of ministers and officials from both nations. Lebanese representatives included Ministers of Economy and Trade, Foreign Affairs, National Defense, Energy and Water, Industry, Interior and Municipalities, and Public Works and Transport. Similarly, Jordanian officials present included the Ministers of Transport, Industry, Trade and Supply, Energy and Mineral Resources, and other key governmental figures.
During the session, the two sides signed various agreements covering industrial cooperation, vocational training, educational collaboration, consumer protection, digital transformation, rail transport, and more. Notable agreements include a memorandum for cooperation in the fields of electricity, natural gas, renewable energy, environmental protection, and a protocol for technical cooperation between investment bodies of both countries.
These agreements signify a comprehensive effort to enhance cooperation in areas crucial to the economic and social development of both nations, reflecting a mutual commitment to fostering stronger bilateral relations.
