Beirut: The Sport Hall of Fame has officially announced the members of its first Board of Trustees following its establishment, comprising a distinguished group of individuals renowned in various fields. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the association's president, Raed Gerges, expressed his gratitude to the board members for their collaboration and dedication to the association's success. He emphasized that their involvement in preserving Lebanon's notable sporting achievements would be a significant contribution to the country's history. The Board of Trustees includes a diverse array of individuals such as Asya Abdullah, Joseph Abi Chahine, Dr. Iman Aleywan, Nizar Al-Zein, Roda Antar, and many others, all of whom bring unique expertise to the table. Raed Gerges highlighted that the board members represent different generations and have experienced various sporting eras in Lebanon. The board encompasses international athletes representing Lebanon, former heads of federations and clubs, coaches , academics, administrators, media figures, and contributors to the sports community. Additionally, it includes social, cultural, and legal figures well-versed in sports, who are expected to provide valuable contributions to the board's work and administrative committee. Gerges further explained that the founding committee has entrusted the Board of Trustees with the crucial task of selecting individuals, clubs, and teams to be enshrined in the Sports Hall of Fame through a voting process. In alignment with this, the founding members, alongside Gerges, including Saeed Ghabris, Ghayath Dibra, Wadih Abdelnour, Jalal Al-Beaino, Ali Khalife, and Ibrahim El-Dassouki, have outlined the association's vision and mission. The vision focuses on embedding remarkable sporting achievements into the national memory, encouraging future generations to engage in sports and strive for excellence. The mission of the Sport Hall of Fame Association, as stated in its official license, aims to highlight Lebanon's significant spo rting accomplishments at both individual and team levels. This includes immortalizing prominent champions, managers, clubs, and national teams, promoting sports culture, fostering national pride, and establishing a hall that attracts athletes, Lebanese citizens, and neighboring countries. Additionally, the association plans to organize regular celebrations to honor those inducted into the Sport Hall of Fame.
