Masdar Teams Up with Presight to Develop AI-Powered Asset Management Tool for Renewable Energy

Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC - Masdar has entered into a strategic agreement with Presight, a big data analytics firm specializing in generative artificial intelligence (AI), to create an advanced asset management tool. This tool aims to enhance the efficiency and productivity of Masdar's renewable energy projects globally. According to Emirates News Agency, the collaboration between Masdar and Presight focuses on leveraging the vast amounts of data generated daily by Masdar's renewable energy installations, including solar panels, inverters, and wind turbines. This initiative will utilize AI to transform this data into actionable insights, facilitating a shift from reactive to predictive management in energy production. The newly developed AI tool will enable Masdar to anticipate and resolve potential issues before they impact operations, thereby minimizing downtime and maximizing energy output. The predictive capabilities of the AI platform are expected to revolutionize the way Masdar m anages its renewable energy assets, making its operations smarter and more data-driven. Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, Masdar's Chief Executive Officer, emphasized the importance of integrating AI into their operations. "With our history of harnessing advanced clean energy technologies, adopting AI to further enhance our operational efficiency was a logical next step,' he stated. Al Ramahi also highlighted the economic potential of combining AI with energy systems to sustain growth while transitioning to a low-carbon future. Thomas Pramotedham, CEO of Presight, remarked on the specific challenges and requirements of managing clean energy resources, noting the importance of balancing variable supply with efficient integration into the energy grid. Since its founding in 2006, Masdar has played a pivotal role in advancing the UAE's sustainability goals and is committed to expanding its renewable energy capacity to 100GW by 2030. This agreement with Presight represents a significant step towards achieving these amb itious objectives and reinforcing the UAE's position as a leader in global sustainability and climate action.
