BEIRUT: The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces (ISF) has announced a significant security initiative for New Year's Eve, spearheaded by Caretaker Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Judge Bassam Mawlawi, and ISF Director General, Major General Imad Othman. The two officials will oversee the deployment of security patrols aimed at ensuring public safety during the celebrations.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the event is scheduled for Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Emile El-Haddad Barracks in Beirut. Minister Mawlawi and Major General Othman are expected to arrive at 5:30 PM, with the official launch of the security patrols set for 6:00 PM. This initiative underscores the government's commitment to maintaining order and safety during one of the most festive nights of the year.
The ISF has extended an invitation to journalists to cover the event, requesting their presence at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
