Doha: The preparatory ministerial meeting for the emergency Arab-Islamic summit began Sunday in the Qatari capital, Doha, chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, with the participation of Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani and foreign ministers of member states of the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, this meeting is part of the preparations for the summit scheduled to be held on Monday. The summit was convened by the State of Qatar following an incident on September 9, where an Israeli aggression targeted the residence of several leaders of the 'Hamas' movement in Doha. This event elicited widespread condemnation across Arab and Islamic circles.
The ministers are set to discuss the draft final statement of the summit, which will include a condemnation of the Israeli aggression and a rejection of the violation of Qatar's sovereignty. Furthermore, the statement will emphasize Arab and Islamic solidarity in response to the Israeli escalation. The meeting aims to formulate a unified position that reflects the unity among Arab and Islamic nations, with a particular focus on the significance of diplomatic coordination in international forums.
