Beirut: The Ministry of Culture has announced a significant development in the preservation of Lebanon's archaeological and scientific heritage. The Ministry has received a grant from the Honor Frost Foundation, aimed at developing a digital platform for the journal "BAAL." This initiative focuses on preserving, publishing, and providing access to the journal's archives, future issues, and new content.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, this grant represents a crucial step in enhancing "BAAL," a leading scientific and archaeological publication in Lebanon and the region. The digital platform will make the journal accessible to a broader audience, including researchers, students, and the public both in Lebanon and globally.
The journal "BAAL," launched by the Directorate General of Antiquities, has played a vital role in documenting archaeological discoveries, excavations, and studies related to Lebanese cultural heritage and the Eastern Mediterranean. The Ministry of Culture highlighted that this project aligns with its broader efforts to improve the digital infrastructure of culture, preserve national memory, and expand access to heritage documentation and scientific publications through modern platforms.
