Beirut: Deputy Prime Minister, Tarek Mitri, on Friday wrote on "X" that reports circulating in the media and among the public about movements by supporters of the former Syrian regime in Lebanon are a cause for concern. Mitri said Lebanese security apparatuses must verify the accuracy of such reports and take appropriate measures, describing this as their duty.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Mitri stressed the need to prevent any actions that could undermine Syria's unity or threaten its security and stability, whether in Lebanon or originating from it. He added that the situation calls for enhanced cooperation with Syrian authorities, based on mutual trust, respect for the sovereignty of both countries, and shared interests.
