Beirut: Minister of Information, Attorney Dr. Paul Morcos, highlighted the significance of safeguarding Lebanon's television archive during the ceremony announcing the nomination of the T©l© Liban archive for UNESCO's Memory of the World Register, in the presence of President Michel Aoun.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Morcos said, "Protecting the archive physically, digitizing it, and ensuring its proper use has been our primary goal. Managing T©l© Liban on a daily basis over the first five months was a major focus, until the first board of directors was finally appointed since 1999, 26 years ago, by the first term of the Aoun government."
The Information Minister added, "This marks a qualitative leap in T©l© Liban's broadcast, both in audio and video, despite the remaining challenges, logistical limitations, and numerous obstacles. The channel has returned to prominence and will regain its full shine, as desired by His Excellency the President, thanks to the leadership of the board, the executive management, and the dedicated efforts of its staff."
