Baabda: Kataeb Party leader, MP Sami Gemayel, on Wednesday emphasized that the disarmament of areas north of the Litani River is a critical test for the Lebanese state, Hezbollah's cooperation, and the capabilities and efficiency of the Lebanese Army in executing this task.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Gemayel, speaking from Baabda Palace, highlighted that an upcoming international conference aimed at supporting the Lebanese Army would be crucial in enhancing its capabilities. He reiterated that the forthcoming phase is "a test for everyone" and urged President Joseph Aoun to prompt the army to expedite the disarmament in the north of the Litani River.
Gemayel expressed his support for President Aoun, stating that the President is "moving in the right direction" and pledging to assist in efforts to restore state sovereignty. Additionally, he pointed out the importance of enabling Lebanese expatriates to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections by voting from abroad.
