Morcos Patronizes “Volunteer Marathon 2025”: A Pioneering Initiative That Embodies the Will to Change from the Bottom Up

Beirut: Minister of Information, Paul Morcos, patronized the opening ceremony of the "Volunteer Marathon 2025" held at the Higher Institute of Business. Also attending the opening ceremony were Social Affairs Minister Hanin El Sayed, Agriculture Ministry representative Fadi Ghanem, Health Ministry representative Linda Hajjar, Director of the Higher Institute of Business Maxence Douillet, founder of the "Volunteer Marathon" Association George Mrad, and a crowd of volunteers and representatives of civil society organizations.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, in his inaugural word, Minister Morcos hailed this national event, "which brings together young capabilities and community initiatives, expresses the true essence of Lebanon: a committed youth, a vibrant civil society, and an unwavering and tireless volunteer spirit." He emphasized that the 2025 Volunteer Marathon, spanning 43 consecutive days, is more than just an event; it is a national call to all who believe in Lebanon and its human potential, serving as a model for civic work and effective participation.

Minister Morcos highlighted that the "2025 Volunteer Marathon," extending across various Lebanese regions, is a pioneering initiative embodying the will to change from the bottom up. He described the event as a national project transcending sects and regions, instilling values of cooperation, solidarity, and belonging, while affirming that volunteer work complements the state's efforts in building a modern, just, and capable nation.

By sponsoring this event, the Ministry of Information underscores its commitment to supporting initiatives that portray a positive image of Lebanon domestically and internationally. Minister Morcos asserted that the media's role extends beyond broadcasting events to being a partner in creating hope by highlighting constructive initiatives.

The Minister expressed his appreciation for all the volunteers who participate in this noble mission, as well as the support from various parties, the organizing committee, and everyone contributing to the marathon's success.
