Morcos, UNDP Delegation Discuss Media Cooperation


Beirut: Minister of Information, Paul Morcos, on Monday welcomed a delegation from UNDP comprising Media and Communications Director Kawthar Fahes and Gaelle Kibranian, Governance Programme Officer at UNDP. Discussions focused on potential cooperation to support the Ministry of Information through a series of UNDP projects covering technical, operational, and human resource aspects, including staff training and skills development.



According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the meeting highlighted the importance of enhancing media capabilities in the country. The projects discussed aim to improve the Ministry’s infrastructure and enhance the skills of its personnel, thereby contributing to more effective information dissemination.



The collaboration between the Ministry of Information and UNDP is expected to play a significant role in upgrading the technical and operational framework of the Ministry. The inclusion of staff training and skills development in the projects underscores the focus on building a more competent workforce.



The UNDP delegation emphasized the organization’s commitment to supporting Lebanon’s efforts in strengthening its media landscape. Both parties expressed optimism about the potential outcomes of this cooperation, which could set a precedent for future initiatives.
