Awqaf Minister Mokhtar Gomaa says that 11,817 mosques have been built and restored since President Abdel Fattah El Sisi assumed office in Egypt at a total cost of 17 billion pounds. The Cabinet's Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) on Wednesday 20/3/2024 posted a video of a meeting with Gomaa, in which he reviewed efforts by his Ministry to expand mosque-building projects and promote the correct teachings of Islam. In the video, Goma also highlighted efforts to renovate the archaeological mosques of Amr Ibn Al Aas, Al Hussain, Al Sayyeda Nafisa and Al Zaher Baybars. Source: State Information Service Egypt
