Beirut: MPs Elias Khoury, Ashraf Rifi, Camille Chamoun, George Okais, former MP Eddy Abi Lamaa, and head of the "Change Movement" attorney Elie Mahfoud on Wednesday filed a criminal complaint with the Public Prosecutor at the Court of Cassation, Judge Jamal Al-Hajjar, at the Palace of Justice in Beirut.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the complaint was officially registered with the Public Prosecution Office and targets Hezbollah's Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem. The complaint also includes any other individuals who may be identified by the investigation as perpetrators, accomplices, instigators, or inciters.
The legal action was initiated following statements by Sheikh Naim Qassem, which the plaintiffs described as "constituting threats of war, sedition, and a coup against the decisions of the constitutional authorities." The filing took place amid tight security measures, reflecting the gravity of the accusations and the potential implications for national stability.
