Beirut: A group of reformist MPs on Tuesday filed an appeal before the Lebanese Constitutional Council challenging Law No. 4, issued on September 14, 2023, which extends the mandate of the Lebanese Parliament.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the petition was submitted by MPs including Najat Aoun Saliba, Elias Jaradeh, Melhem Khalaf, Halimeh Kaakour, Cynthia Zarazir, Osama Saad, Antoine Habchi, Waddah Sadek, Ziad Hawat, and Farid Boustany.
The move seeks to contest the legality of the extension and its constitutional implications.
