National Economy Committee Convenes to Review Pending Projects


Beirut: A session of the National Economy, Trade, Industry, and Planning Committee was held, chaired by MP Fadi al-Bustani. The committee gathered in Room 310 of the Parliamentary Offices Building to review pending projects and proposed laws that have yet to be addressed.



According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the session was part of a comprehensive agenda that included several significant events throughout the day. At 10:00 am, a report on religious minorities in Lebanon was launched at the Movenpick Hotel, Beirut. This report, titled “In-Depth Analysis and Recommendations,” aims to provide insights and suggestions regarding the status and challenges faced by religious minorities in Lebanon.



Later, at 11:00 am, the Palestinian Human Rights Organization (Shahed) held a press conference at the Press Syndicate in Beirut. The conference focused on the “Suspension of UNRWA Employees under the Pretext of Neutrality,” discussing the implications of these suspensions on trade union rights and justice standards.



At noon, a press conference took place at the Sovereign Front Headquarters in Verdun, Beirut, featuring Elie Mahfoud, President of the Change Movement, and former MP Eddy Abi Lamaa, an executive member of the Lebanese Forces Party. Discussions were anticipated to cover various pressing national issues.



The afternoon sessions included a conference titled “The Impact of Media on the Family,” organized by the Publication and Media Committee and the Family Committee. This event was held at the Beirut Bar Association’s “House of the Lawyer” Main Conference Room.



In response to recent attacks, a solidarity event was organized at 3:00 pm by the Jaafari Cultural Center for Islamic Research and Interfaith Dialogue. The event supported cultural and dialogue institutions in southern Beirut suburbs, addressing the damage they have sustained.



The day’s agenda concluded with a panel discussion at 5:30 pm on “Government, Reform Challenges, and State Reconstruction.” This discussion was organized by the Leftist Secular Democratic Work Organization and took place at their headquarters in Wata al-Musaytbeh.
