Jerusalem: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Sunday that Israel will do what is necessary to implement a ceasefire with Hezbollah in Lebanon. Netanyahu emphasized that disarming Hezbollah is a priority and expressed a preference for the Lebanese army to undertake this task. He stated, "Hezbollah must be disarmed, and Israel prefers that the Lebanese army carry out this task. But no one should doubt that Israel will do what is necessary to implement the understandings regarding the ceasefire and defend our security."
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio echoed Netanyahu's sentiments during a joint press conference in Jerusalem. Rubio remarked, "Regarding Lebanon, our goals are in line, a strong Lebanese state capable of confronting Hezbollah and disarming it." This alignment highlights the shared objectives between the United States and Israel in ensuring that the ceasefire agreement is upheld and that Lebanon takes decisive action against Hezbollah.
