Beirut: A widely circulating social media post claiming to be an official decision by the Ministry of Interior, stated that "starting tomorrow, a new communications system will be implemented, whereby phone calls will be recorded, mobile conversations saved, and social media platforms, such as WhatsApp, X (Twitter), and Facebook, will be monitored, and mobile phone numbers tracked."
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Fact Check Lebanon team at the Ministry of Information, after verifying the official websites of the Lebanese Ministry of Interior, confirmed that this post is outdated, going back to 2020, whereby the Interior Ministry had already denied its content at the time of its original circulation.
