OIC Denounces Israeli Military Actions in Gaza’s Beit Lahia

JEDDAH: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) issued a strong condemnation on Sunday against the Israeli military for what it described as a "heinous massacre" in Beit Lahia, located in the northern Gaza Strip. The incident on Saturday evening resulted in the deaths of 73 Palestinians and left dozens injured, the OIC reported. According to Jordan News Agency, the OIC released a statement on its website, characterizing the massacre as a continuation of a long history of violent acts against the Palestinian people. The organization accused the Israeli military of violating international values, conventions, and resolutions set by the United Nations, including orders from the International Court of Justice. The OIC further criticized the ongoing war crimes, destruction, and humanitarian crises affecting the displaced populations in Gaza. They called these actions a blemish on humanity and urged the international community to hold Israel accountable for its actions to prevent further impunity. In its s tatement, the OIC reiterated its appeal to the United Nations Security Council to intervene. The organization called for an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire, the provision of international protection for Palestinians, and the facilitation of urgent humanitarian aid throughout the Gaza Strip.
