Ramallah: A phone call took place on Saturday between Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during which they exchanged Eid al-Fitr greetings.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, President Erdogan congratulated President Abbas and the Palestinian people on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, expressing his hope that the aggression against the Palestinian people would cease and their aspirations for freedom and independence would be realized. The Turkish President reiterated his country's support for the Palestinian people and their cause in all international forums.
In response, President Abbas extended his wishes to President Erdogan and the Turkish people for further progress and prosperity. He expressed appreciation for "Turkey's supportive stances toward our people and our legitimate national rights," and emphasized "the State of Palestine's commitment to strengthening coordination and cooperation between the two brotherly countries and peoples."
