Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli inspected on Tuesday some development projects being carried out at the Cairo International Airport ahead of his flight for taking part in the 15th BRICS summit on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
During his inspection tour, the prime minister was accompanied by Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Abbas Helmy along with a number of officials at the aviation ministry and the national flag carrier, EgyptAir.
Madbouli was briefed by the civil aviation minister on ongoing projects at the airport, noting that a lot of development projects were implemented there over the past period in light of the Civil Aviation Ministry’s strategy to provide the best services for travellers, Cabinet Spokesman Nader Saad said.
The projects are set to facilitate the movement of travellers at Egyptian airports, the minister told Madbouli.
The leaders from the five-member group of nations known as BRICS — Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa — began the three-day summit in Johannesburg on Tuesday, where they are discussing expanding the bloc.
