Damascus: Prime Minister, Dr. Nawaf Salam, arrived at Damascus Airport at 1:30 pm today, accompanied by a ministerial delegation comprising Lebanon’s Minister of Defense, Major General Michel Menassa, Minister of Interior, Brigadier General Ahmad al-Hajjar, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Youssef Rajji. From the airport, Premier Salam and his accompanying delegation headed to the People’s Palace, where they were received by Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa and Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani. Afterwards, a meeting was held attended by delegations from both countries.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the visit marks a significant diplomatic engagement between Lebanon and Syria, focusing on bilateral relations and regional cooperation. The discussions are expected to cover a range of topics including security, trade, and cultural exchange. Observers note that this meeting could pave the way for enhanced cooperation between the two nations, amidst ongoing regional challenges.
