Beirut: Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam held a series of meetings at the Grand Serail, receiving distinguished visitors to discuss Lebanon’s diplomatic and social initiatives.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Prime Minister Salam first met with Qatar’s Ambassador to Lebanon, Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. The meeting focused on the current situation and explored the bilateral relations between Lebanon and Qatar.
In another diplomatic engagement, Prime Minister Salam welcomed Latvia’s Minister of Health, Dr. Hossam Abu Meri, accompanied by the Latvian Consul General in Lebanon, Gerard Renno. Discussions with the Latvian delegation centered around the general situation in Lebanon and the region, as well as examining the bilateral ties between Lebanon and Latvia.
Later, Prime Minister Salam received the Committee for the Care of Prisoners and Their Families, led by Lawyer Hassan Afif Kashli from Dar al-Fatwa. The committee briefed the Prime Minister on their humanitarian, social, and legal efforts, especially during Ramadan, which include providing support to prisoners and their families. The delegation highlighted the importance of passing the general amnesty law to further their cause.
Additionally, Prime Minister Salam’s schedule included a meeting with Lebanon’s Ambassador to Ivory Coast, Majida Karaki, as part of his diplomatic engagements for the day.
