Beirut: Prime Minister, Dr. Nawaf Salam, on Tuesday received the Secretary General of Amnesty International, Agn¨s Callamard, at the Grand Serail. Callamard, after the meeting, stated, "We are keen to see Lebanon as a strong defender of international justice."
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Premier Salam also held discussions with UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini. The meeting, attended by the Director of UNRWA Affairs in Lebanon, Dorothee Klaus, and the head of the Lebanese-Palestinian Dialogue Committee, Ambassador Ramez Dimashkieh, focused on the financial challenges facing the organization and their effects on the Palestinian camps in Lebanon.
Additionally, the Prime Minister welcomed a delegation from the Board of Directors of the Tripoli Port Authority. This meeting aimed to review the current situation of the port and discuss pertinent issues related to its operations.
