Beirut: Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam hosted French presidential envoy Jean-Yves Le Drian at the Grand Serail, alongside French Ambassador to Lebanon Herv© Magro and their delegation. The meeting focused on reconstruction efforts and a conference France plans to organize concerning this issue, as well as the reforms being implemented by the Lebanese government.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, discussions also included the latest political developments. In another meeting at the Grand Serail, Prime Minister Salam met with Major General Aroldo Lazaro, the Force Commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), and his delegation. They discussed the situation in southern Lebanon, cooperation with the Lebanese army, and efforts to implement UN Resolution 1701.
Additionally, Prime Minister Salam engaged with a delegation from the subcommittee of the joint parliamentary committees, which is examining a proposal for establishing a compulsory health coverage system. The delegation included several MPs, who updated the Prime Minister on the proposal and the outcomes of their discussions.
Prime Minister Salam also met with representatives from the Rented Buildings Owners Syndicate, led by Dean Patrick Rizkallah, to discuss the current state of the sector. Furthermore, he received a delegation from the Depositors Association to address their concerns. Lastly, Salam held talks with Mohammed Al-Hout, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Middle East Airlines (MEA), regarding the company's status.
