Beirut: Prime Minister, Dr. Nawaf Salam, on Wednesday received at the Grand Serail, the UK Defence Senior Advisor to the Middle East and North Africa (DSAME) Vice Admiral Edward Ahlgren, accompanied by British Ambassador to Lebanon, Hamish Cowell.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the meeting addressed the latest political and military developments in the region and the importance of the stance of the Lebanese authorities, who have been keen to prevent the country from being drawn into the war that raged in the region.
The meeting also touched on the situation on the ground in southern Lebanon and the efforts undertaken by the Lebanese Army to consolidate the state's authority, and the need for Israel's withdrawal from all territories it still occupies.
