Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli announced on Tuesday12/9/2023 that Thursday, the 28th of September, 2023 will be a paid day off for public and private sector employees, on the occasion of El-Mawlid El-Nabawi (celebration of Prophet Muhammad's birthday).
It remains up to employers, however, to choose not to give that day off to employees due to working conditions, the premier said, noting that in such case employees should receive twice their daily wages.
This occasion is commemorated in Rabi' al-Awwal, the third month in the lunar Islamic calendar.
