Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh received the Omani official at his office in Ramallah, where they discussed the latest developments in Palestine and the absence of a political horizon under the present Israeli government. Shtayyeh said the current Israeli government is based on the principle of intensifying settlements, changing the open-fire regulations to facilitate killings and arm settlers, intensifying incursions and attacks on the al-Aqsa Mosque and attempts to impose temporal and spatial division over it. He maintained that all successive governments in Israel do not want the establishment of a Palestinian State and are continuously working to destroy the possibility of establishing it. ‘Today, the government in Israel is pushing the [Palestinian] national authority to collapse and working to weaken it systematically,’ he said. The Omani official affirmed that this is a solidarity visit and a consolidation of partnerships and cooperation programs between the two countries in all fields. The Omani minister stressed his country’s unwavering position toward the Palestinian people and their just issue.
