Beirut: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, made a phone call to the Latin Patriarch of Lebanon, Cesar Essayan, expressing Lebanon's condemnation, as state and people, of the Israeli authorities' prevention of the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, from accessing the Church of the Holy Sepulchre to hold Palm Sunday Mass.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the President considered this action "a flagrant violation of freedom of worship and a blatant breach of international law and international humanitarian law." President Aoun's statement underscores Lebanon's stance on ensuring religious freedoms are upheld, particularly in regions with significant historical and religious importance.
