President Aoun Engages in Comprehensive Discussions on National Reforms and Security

Baabda: President Joseph Aoun engaged in a series of pivotal meetings at the Baabda Presidential Palace, focusing on key national reforms and security issues.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the President was briefed by Environment Minister Tamara El-Zein on the Ministry's recent achievements and its plans to propose legislative amendments for modernizing its structure to tackle environmental and climate challenges.

President Aoun also welcomed a delegation from the "Rethinking Lebanon" Association, emphasizing the country's rich human capital and the resilience demonstrated by its people through creative initiatives amidst various crises.

In discussions with MP Wadah Sadek, President Aoun addressed pressing political and security matters. MP Sadek highlighted the significance of implementing the second phase of the plan to ensure state control over arms, which is crucial for maintaining state sovereignty and stability. He also underscored the importance of adhering to constitutional timelines for parliamentary elections to uphold democratic processes.

Furthermore, MP Ashraf Rifi expressed his support for President Aoun's leadership in strengthening state sovereignty and praised efforts to boost economic activity in North Lebanon. Rifi acknowledged the positive impact of these initiatives on the region's development.

Former MP Hadi Hobeish echoed the focus on restricting arms to the state, noting the Lebanese army's role in this mission. He reiterated the President's commitment to constitutional reforms and the timely conduct of legislative elections as vital for national progress.

The President also received holiday greetings from international leaders, including those from the United Arab Emirates, Poland, Germany, Cyprus, Hungary, Sierra Leone, Turkmenistan, and Iran, further reflecting Lebanon's international diplomatic engagements.
