Baabda: President Joseph Aoun held a series of important meetings, starting with a briefing by Minister of Environment, Tamara El-Zein, on the ministry's reform initiatives and future plans. The discussions included a draft law intended to modernize the ministry's structure to better address environmental and climate issues.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Minister El-Zein also highlighted ongoing projects and legislative efforts within the ministry's mandate. Following this, President Aoun met with delegates from the "Rethinking Lebanon" Association, emphasizing Lebanon's resilience and the role of its human capital in overcoming national crises.
In subsequent meetings, President Aoun discussed political and security matters with MP Wadah Sadek. Sadek underscored the importance of confining arms to state control to enhance sovereign stability and reiterated the need for diplomatic efforts to address Israeli incursions and adhere to UN Resolution 1701. He also emphasized the necessity of holding parliamentary elections on schedule to maintain democratic processes and bolster confidence in Lebanon's constitutional institutions.
President Aoun also conferred with MP Ashraf Rifi, who expressed support for the President's leadership and praised initiatives that have invigorated economic activities in North Lebanon. Former MP Hadi Hobeish was also received by President Aoun, where they discussed the broader political landscape and ongoing national issues.
