President Aoun Engages in Security and Political Discussions at Baabda Palace

Baabda: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, held significant meetings at Baabda Palace on Tuesday, focusing on security and political matters. The President first received Major General Edgar Lawandos, the Director General of State Security. Their discussions reportedly centered on the tasks undertaken by the Directorate, with a particular focus on efforts in combating corruption.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, President Aoun also held talks with a delegation from the "Strong Lebanon" bloc. This group included former minister and MP Nada Boustani, MP George Atallah, and former MP Eddie Maalouf. Their discussions primarily revolved around the country's general situation and recent developments.

In a separate meeting, President Aoun welcomed a delegation of former Chiefs of Staff of the Lebanese Army. This delegation included Major Generals Ramzi Abu Hamzeh, Shawqi Al-Masry, Walid Salman, and Amin Al-Aram. They extended their congratulations to the President and engaged in discussions about the country's general situation and matters concerning retired military personnel.
