Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, inaugurated the Lebanese Industrial Exhibition with a call for a forward-looking, innovation-driven national economy. He emphasized that Lebanon's limited geography must be offset by its vast human potential.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, President Aoun questioned how Lebanon can keep pace with the times, especially in the industrial sector, given its geographic limitations. He highlighted the country's immense human wealth and unique geopolitical position as a distinct comparative advantage.
He noted that Lebanon is at a moment of major international and regional transformation, with peace efforts, border openings, and new opportunities for cooperation among nations. In this context, Aoun posed a critical question about the kind of Lebanese industry that can grow and compete under these new conditions. He emphasized the development of knowledge industries, digital economies, and creating added value for the region and the world, potentially drawing motivation from past delays.
President Aoun stressed the need for unified action and strategic planning to achieve a sustainable industrial revival. He called for a collaborative effort among national production partners to define clear priorities, available resources, and a practical roadmap leading to a national industrial renaissance.
