Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, officially welcomed the credentials of seven newly appointed ambassadors to Lebanon in a ceremony at the Presidential Palace.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the new envoys included Abdusalom Khatamov of Uzbekistan, Francisco Romero Bock of Mexico, Jos© Gregorio Biomorgi Muzattiz of Venezuela, Chen Chuandong of the People's Republic of China, Mohammad Al-Assad of Palestine, Gregory Galligan of Canada, and Ricardo Cucal³n Levy of El Salvador. The ceremony was attended by several key figures, including Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Youssef Raji and Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hani Chemaitelly.
The ambassadors were received with full honors, which included national anthems played by the army band and the hoisting of their flags alongside the Lebanese flag. Each envoy was escorted through a ceremonial guard of honor to present their credentials to President Aoun. The ambassadors conveyed greetings from their heads of state and emphasized their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with Lebanon.
Earlier, President Aoun met with Minister of Energy and Water, Joe Saddi, to discuss Lebanon's electricity sector challenges and efforts to improve power generation. They also reviewed progress in establishing a regulatory authority for the sector.
