Baabda: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, met with the Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation in Lebanon, Simone Casabianca-Aeschlimann, at Baabda Palace. This visit marked the conclusion of Aeschlimann's mission in Lebanon as she introduced her successor, Agnes Dhur. The meeting was also attended by Shawky Amine Eddine, the political advisor to the mission.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, President Aoun expressed his gratitude to Aeschlimann for her contribution and dedication during her tenure, acknowledging the challenges Lebanon faced. He also commended the ICRC Delegation staff for their commitment to achieving the humanitarian objectives of the organization. President Aoun welcomed Dhur, expressing hope for her success in her new role.
Aeschlimann briefed President Aoun on the recent activities undertaken by the ICRC in Lebanon, highlighting their efforts during the Israeli aggression. She emphasized the ICRC's ongoing commitment to fulfilling its humanitarian mission in the region.
In a separate meeting, President Aoun engaged with former Minister Damianos Kattar at Baabda Palace. Their discussion focused on the general situation in the country and the latest developments impacting Lebanon.
