President Joseph Aoun Engages in Diplomatic and Cultural Discussions

Baabda: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, on Wednesday engaged in a series of diplomatic meetings, receiving Lebanon's Ambassador to Mexico, the Algerian Ambassador, and MP Hadi Abou El-Hessen. He also met with the Director of the UNESCO Regional Office in Beirut, Paolo Fontani, alongside Information Minister Paul Morcos.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, President Aoun began his day with a meeting with Sami Nmeir, Lebanon's Ambassador to Mexico. They discussed the status of Lebanese-Mexican relations and the Lebanese diaspora residing in Mexico.

Later, President Aoun met with the Algerian Ambassador to Lebanon, Kamal Bou Shama. The focus of their discussion was the outcomes of President Aoun's recent official visit to Algeria, including his talks with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

In a separate meeting, MP Hadi Abou El-Hessen from the 'Democratic Gathering' bloc discussed with President Aoun the general situation in Lebanon and developmental projects in the Upper Metn region.

The day concluded with a meeting at Baabda Palace with Paolo Fontani, Director of the UNESCO Regional Office in Beirut, attended by Information Minister Paul Morcos. Fontani updated President Aoun on UNESCO's activities in Lebanon, emphasizing support in cultural, media, intellectual, and heritage domains, and the preservation of Tele Liban archives. Minister Morcos highlighted the cooperation between UNESCO and the Lebanese Ministry of Information. President Aoun expressed his support for Fontani's work in Lebanon.
