President Joseph Aoun Meets Emir of Qatar Ahead of Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha

Doha: Upon his arrival at the Sheraton Doha for the extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit, President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, visited the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, in his suite at the summit venue. The meeting, which began at 12:30 p.m., was attended by Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, on the Lebanese side, the meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Youssef Raggi, and member of the Lebanese delegation to the Summit, Special Advisor to the President of the Republic, Brigadier General Andre Rahal.

At the beginning of the meeting, President Aoun renewed his condemnation of the Israeli aggression against Doha and reaffirmed Lebanon's solidarity with Qatar and the brotherly Qatari people. President Aoun also thanked the Emir of Qatar for the constant support his country provides to Lebanon in all circumstances.

The Emir of Qatar welcomed President Aoun and his accompanying delegation, thanking Lebanon for its solidarity with Qatar and its condemnation of the Israeli aggression. He stressed "Qatar's stand by Lebanon and its constant support for the Lebanese people, as well as its ongoing efforts to promote security and stability in Lebanon."

On another level, the leaders of Arab and Islamic countries continued to arrive in Doha to participate in the emergency Arab-Islamic summit, which will begin at 3:00 p.m. this afternoon.
