President Joseph Aoun Meets UAE Delegation to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Baabda: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, welcomed an Emirati delegation at Baabda Palace during their visit to Lebanon, aimed at assessing the needs and priorities of the Lebanese state. This visit follows the recent Lebanese-Emirati summit, highlighting the commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, President Aoun expressed gratitude towards Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed for his support, emphasizing the deep fraternal ties between Lebanon and the UAE. He acknowledged the UAE mission's presence in Beirut as a testament to this growing relationship and expressed appreciation from the Lebanese people.

President Aoun stressed the importance of expanding cooperation in areas such as education, governance, and public sector management. He also highlighted the need for private sector initiatives and investments, particularly in future economies like digitization and high technology.

The delegation, led by UAE Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Knowledge Exchange, Abdulla Nasser Lootah, included key figures such as Fahad Al Kaabi and Ibrahim Salman. Minister Lootah conveyed the delegation's enthusiasm for enhancing Lebanese-Emirati relations, following President Aoun's successful visit to Abu Dhabi.

Minister Lootah stated that the visit intends to define partnership frameworks and exchange data, with the UAE committed to supporting Lebanon's aspirations through joint cooperation and facilities directed by the UAE President.

A technical work meeting preceded the main discussions, attended by Lebanese officials and advisors. The meeting focused on cooperation in modernizing administrative procedures, digital transformation, and enhancing public institutions' effectiveness, reinforcing knowledge exchange and technical support between the nations.
