Abu dhabi: Presight, a prominent big data analytics company utilizing generative AI, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Colombia's Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation. This collaboration is set to advance joint research, technological development, and innovation projects between the two entities. According to Emirates News Agency, the MoU was formalized in Abu Dhabi with signatures from Thomas Pramotedham, CEO of Presight, and Ángela Yesenia Olaya Requene, Colombia's Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation. The agreement outlines a framework for enhanced cooperation in research and development across several sectors, including AI, data analytics, smart cities, energy, and climate, among other areas of shared interest. Under the terms of the MoU, Presight and the Colombian ministry will organize seminars and conferences to facilitate interaction among relevant institutions. They will also establish mechanisms for technology transfer to expedite the development of AI and big data capabilities. Both parties aim to focus on the adoption of emerging technologies to bolster strategic sectors, with particular attention to operational efficiency in smart cities and the energy transition and bioeconomy. Pramotedham remarked on the collaboration's potential to leverage AI and big data in addressing global challenges. He highlighted Colombia's progress in developing smart cities, particularly in Medellín and Bogotá, and expressed enthusiasm for Presight's role in supporting these advancements. Requene emphasized the strengthening of relations with the United Arab Emirates through the MoU, aiming to elevate Colombia as a Latin American hub for AI, underpinned by principles of ethics, sustainability, and clean energy use.
